Gairdner Awards

The Gairdner Foundation was created in 1957 by James Gairdner to recognize top achievements in biomedical research which have a lasting impact on humanity.

The Awards were first given out in 1959 and continue today, honouring the world's top biomedical researcher and scientists. The Gairdner Awards include a Global Health award and Canada Gairdner Wightman Award.
